Thrift Shopping in Kuala Lumpur - The Ones That Got Away 4

There have been some lovely discoveries at various thrift shops in the past few months.  Although I didn’t end up taking most of them home with me, it was still fun to find them and at least I took pictures of them to reminisce (and sometimes beat myself up for being indecisive and not snapping them up)!

These were very beautiful but unfortunately, a little too tight for me.  I’m never going to stuff my feet into shoes that are too small.  I did that once and no amount of shoe stretching spray would stretch the shoes to fit my feet.

BudgetConsumer – Daiso Hair Elastics

I have bought a lot of hair elastics in my lifetime but there are none that I love more than Daiso’s hair elastics (only the ones that are made in Japan).  I feel that they are more elastic and comfortable than other brands.  The problem is that they cost MYR5.30 for a pack of two, which makes them rather expensive.  I was about to buy another pack when I noticed something hanging from the side of the racks.

I suppose these elastics are for making hair bands?  Anyway, they are really long and also made in Japan!  They even come in a variety of thicknesses and colours!  Daiso also sells a pack of five or six ready-cut hair elastics that haven’t been tied so you have to knot them up yourself.  Obviously, the “hair bands” are a far better deal.  You just have to cut them to size and tie them up to make hair elastic bands.  I love them!

Recent Purchases (April & May 2016)

I’ve been doing a bit of shopping here and there, mostly stuff that I have wanted to get for a while.  Nothing particularly spectacular but I’m quite happy with my purchases. Some of these are still available in-store for those who would like to get them.

Birkenstocks (MYR209.40 after 40% discount)

I saw these at Mitsui Outlet Park less than a month ago but didn’t buy them.  I found them at Isetan The Gardens and Isetan One Utama for the same price as at the outlet!  I guess I don’t need to go to the outlet to scout for bargains.  These are all leather except for the sole so I’m happy with them.  I shall be stalking Isetan for future Birkenstock sales. You can see some photos of the small Birkenstock clearance at Isetan One Utama from this page.  I didn't find any women's styles that were 50% off, though.

Mitsui Outlet Park, Sepang – Second Round

(Earlier post on Mitsuit Outlet Park Sepang here)
A week ago, I went to Mitsui Outlet Park Sepang with some out-of-towners.  It turned out to be a rather disappointing trip.  Most of the things were quite expensive and strangely, the outlet was quiet.  However, I did manage to visit some of the outlets that I wasn’t able to go to before.
